“The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new,” Socrates said this thousands of years ago, and it is still true today. Process intensification is centered on focusing the collective energy and technologies at our disposal on building the “new”.
Process intensification consists of the development of novel apparatuses and process techniques that, are expected to bring dramatic improvements in manufacturing and processing. The result of these improvements decreases equipment-size/production-capacity ratio, energy consumption, or waste production. These improvements result in cheaper and more sustainable technologies.
Or, to put this in a shorter form: any chemical engineering development that leads to a substantially smaller, cleaner, and more energy efficient technology is process intensification. One of the most common ways to prove or disprove new forms of process intensification is by the utilization of pilot plants.
We encounter a variety of clients looking to achieve innovative ways of process intensification. We love projects where we get to partner with the customer to engineer and design a system that will improve the manufacturing process. If you have a process that you’ve proven at lab scale we would love to discuss your application in greater detail to develop a fully functioning pilot plant to achieve process intensification.

Go and build the NEW!
