Looking for pricing for a custom process system? At EPIC, we know how hard it can be to find accurate, reliable pricing online from a qualified process systems engineer. It can also be unsettling to send your information to an unfamiliar company. EPIC has created this simple and comprehensive guide to the RFQ pricing process so you’ll know exactly what to expect when you request a quote from EPIC.
Our pricing process includes five major steps:
Step 1: Get a Quote on our Process Systems Website
When you click on the “Get a quote” button on the EPIC site, you’ll be asked to enter your name, contact info, and any preliminary project details you would like to share with our expert process systems engineers. Once you submit your information, we will reach out to you within 24 hours.
Step 2: Schedule a Discovery Interview to Discuss Your Needs
Once EPIC reaches out, we will schedule a discovery meeting where we discuss your project in more detail and begin extracting the information we need to get preliminary pricing estimates to you. This is a meeting for you to explain your unique challenges and concerns about your project. If you have specific project deadlines, specific layout concerns, budget restraints, etc.. now is the time to discuss them.
Step 3: Project Profile & Front-End Engineering Quote Delivery
With the information you provide in the interview, our process systems engineers will create a project profile for your custom process system. The profile will answer questions like:
- What problems is your process system is trying to solve?
- What unit operations might we recommend to make the process move smoothly?
- What specific hardware can we source to make this project a success?
Creating a project profile is an important step in our pre-engineering process. At EPIC, we do not believe in providing “instant quotes”, since these are really no more than guesses. They are kind of like throwing a dart at a vaguely narrowed cost dartboard.
Instead, EPIC uses a Front End Engineering (FEE) process–an alternative to the instant quote process that is much more effective and reflective of actual project costs. The process completes necessary design engineering up front for relatively small fees, and as a result, the client receives a project profile that contains clear scope, budget, and timeline that they can depend on up-front.
Step 4: Corporate Approval of Purchase Order
With a detailed engineering package in-hand, you will have an easier time going back to the C-suite and getting approval of your purchase order. However, if you need additional help communicating the benefits of the purchase, EPIC is able to help. We can provide you with ROI estimates, cost justification, and testimonials from our past clients so you can confidently present the offer to your manager. Once the purchase order is approved, we’re ready to begin creating your process system.
Step 5: Project Kickoff
After the Front-End Engineering package has been accepted on your end, we will immediately start building on the engineering that has already been done to get your project rolling. Your experienced process systems engineer is personally responsible for ensuring the success of your project every step of the way. With an assigned project manager, you will always have an expert that you can directly contact with any questions or issues that arise.
At this point, your project is priced and ready to go and you will have a clear understanding of what expectations and solutions are waiting for you through the design process.
Benefits of Working with EPIC’s Expert Process Systems Engineers
Our easy-to-follow pricing process will help you to immediately determine if EPIC is the right fit for your needs. While it might seem like a more time-consuming process than an instant quote, in reality, working with EPIC will limit your company’s overall downtime with the fastest time-to-market record in the industry. Our modular designs are proven to be easy to design, customize, and install, so you will be able to be up and running as soon as possible. And you won’t have to continuously adapt and change your budget, because the quote you get through our FEE process, in the beginning, will be reliable enough for us to create a detailed plan and timeline together.
A custom process system is a big investment and it is absolutely worth it to work with a company who will take the project seriously from day one. That is why our pricing guide focuses on getting the right information and using all of our engineering capabilities to configure the best plan for you from the get-go.
