Challenge

A Fortune 500 company in the specialty chemical industry required a highly specialized continuous distillation system for recovering highly valuable but also toxic and flammable solvents from production waste stream. The system needed to be compact but accessible for maintenance, road-shippable, and compliant with extremely elaborate corporate engineering specifications. With a looming plant turnaround deadline, the company faced significant challenges in designing and implementing the required system within the stipulated timeframe.

The solution included a turnkey modular skid design, encompassing all necessary components for efficient and seamless integration into the customer’s facility and complementing their existing processes. This tower was strategically divided into two 40-foot sections for ease of transportation and on-site assembly. 

Additionally, EPIC managed the procurement of materials and fabrication of the modular components, ensuring adherence to quality standards and project timelines. 

Despite the challenging timeline, EPIC expedited the fabrication and delivery process to ensure the batch reactor system was ready for installation before the scheduled plant turnaround.
